I dont play inline anymore, and I got these nice skates for christmas and the store wouldnt let me return them, i just wanna know if there is anyway i can make them into a ice hockey skate. thanks
I had a comment posted on one of my hockey training videos posted on YouTube, he asked me what the athlete, I played ice hockey For. Although I do not play a adult pick up hockey now and then, I do not think that's what he was looking for. I must admit that I am a fitness trainer who happens to work with many hockey players.  I normally leave on the ice training for hockey coach and power skating coach, after all, he or she is an expert on that realm. An exception is on the ice conditioning. About Many elite players take time away from the ice in the summer, I like my clients to do a bit stream and ice skating on ice conditioning once or twice a week during June and July, and expects that they will be on the ice scrimmaging 3-5 days per week starting in August. Â
As you can see, cycling, running, doing ladder drills are all very different from skating stride. I love the picture board, but there is no chance of diverse exercises on the picture board or skating treadmill for that matter.  I have a few different categories of on-ice drills on a continuum of speed and acceleration to speed endurance. Then I can add layers to the Continuum, including stability, reactivity or agility. Below I will describe one of the big bang exercises I use when training hockey players in ice. The only requirement is small cones and a stop watch. Â
The exact set up varies depending on the position of sport, but that is how I set up a forward. me up about five small marker cones in the offensive zone, different positions, but to show, let us look at the area around the attacking zone face-off circle to the right of net. Typically, one will be beginning of the circle, is a particular network, one deep in the corner, one of the hash mark closest to the boards and another behind net. Each cone is approximately 3-7 meters from each other. Â
You can do this drill with or without the puck, it depends on your goal. Want to work pure speed and agility, or do you want to work quickly with the puck control. What you select the drill running the same way. Â
Start with the player standing on one of the cones.
You will begin drilling by saying "Go" as you start the stopwatch.
You give immediate visual player by pointing to one of the cones.
The ice hockey skates to the goal as fast as he can.
When the player is approaching the cone, he or she sees the coach for next destination.
You must be able to deliver the visual cues quickly so that the player does not need to slow down or stop and wait for cue.Â
Continue steer athletes in a random patter for the predetermined time.
I usually use this drill for 8-15 seconds with a 1:4 or 1:6 work to rest interval. A This is one of my favorite hockey training exercises because it combines the ice agility and conditioning, and cognitive training that the athlete must read and respond to visual cues. Hope it helps you to train hockey players to perform better.

When you think of playing indoors, do you believe in your Wii? Your mind automatically goes to your board game collection? Or do you have something a bit larger in mind?
If you want to expand your indoor fun, why not try an indoor sport or two? There are lots of opportunities out there, be limited just by the nature of space and compensation expenses you have. Although the available space need not be a big issue these days, because many of the top indoor Sports betting tables are available in a variety of sizes. This place definitely capable of receiving the smallest of spaces.
What indoor sport will come to you when you think about it? Probably air hockey, billiards, table tennis, foosball, and comes to mind. Darts and Bean bag throwing, known as "Baggo" or "Corn Hole" some may also pop in your head. Laser tag can also be regarded as an indoor sport, but requires a substantial amount of relatively expensive equipment.
The giants, however, have Air Hockey, Pool, and Ping-Pong. These are all sports that are played on a "game table" and requires, if not much skill, a commitment to have fun. Of course, can argue with me about "skill" part, but I say that you can play any of these games if you are "good" or not.
If you have an air hockey table, plug it and go have fun. Take a club, cool fingers of the jets of air, and get started! Sliding the puck across the table, banking it off the pages and hear that satisfying "kachunk" when it slides into the case is what is at stake. This is all indoor sports, one that almost anyone can play.
Of course it would be difficult to play this game alone, unlike pool or ping-pong (which you can fold up half of the table and bounce the ball off of the economist-style). But I'm sure there are many enterprising individuals out there who have come to a road. Apart from this, However, air hockey a fun game that appeals to almost everyone. From Grandmas to small boys, almost all played a game or two sometime.
You can also find air hockey tables almost everywhere. Even if you do not see many "Air Hockey Hall", you can be sure to find them on your local arcades, centers of fun for the whole family, bowling alleys, hotels leeway and even skating rinks. Churches with active youth groups and even some middle and high schools can have them. No matter where you go, you might bump into one of these fun games tables.
If the top 3 indoor sports, air hockey, pool and ping-pong, is my voice to air hockey. It appeals to all, are almost everywhere and is fun and satisfying to play. If you have not already, jump in the car, on bicycle, or on the bus and find a place to shoot some puck.

Skates can be used in many different ways. Some of the most common activities with skates are figure skating, ramp, hockey, stair riding, up and down hills, speed skating, commuting and so on. Before selecting a pair skates decide whether it is to be used for speed, hockey or multi-purpose.
The skating sports boom occurred in the 1880s and from that time onwards roller skates were mass produced to meet the demand. Richmond, Indiana based Micajah C Henley was producing more than a thousand pairs of skates every week and selling all of them. These skates were the first model to hit the markets with a provision to adjust the tension through the screws fitted at the base.
Multi-purpose skates are also known as fitness or cross-training skates and recreational skates. Correct translations of these sales terms will be “expensive skates” and “cheaper skates” respectively.
Multi-purpose skates with rugged shells, smaller and harder wheels and grind plates made of either plastic or metals are ideal for aggressive or street skating. These types of skates are very popular. For inline skating, multi-purpose skates form a large share of the market. They are made of plastic and contain an inside foam liner. Some models have only laces for tying and some have only buckles and some have a combination of both laces and buckles. Find more info at [http://www.coolskates.info]
Hockey skates are made of stitched leather. They are good for use only in rinks and may not withstand the abrasion and shocks of the rough surface of the outdoors. Hockey skates can be properly fastened by using the Velcro straps and the laces.
Speed skates are provided with a wheelbase which can fit in 5 wheels. Speed skates are usually made of leather. Speed skates are sold only specialty stores.
When purchasing speed skates ensure you get a good fitting. Sit down and fasten the skates as if you are going to skate. When you stand up your toes should reach or touch the end of the skate. Bend your knees in the standing position. Straighten your legs and bend them again. Do these exercise a couple of times and check your comfort level. A small toe room should be created when you bend the knees during skating which ensures a good fit. If the toes are touching and feeling the tip of the skates, it indicates a good and proper fit. By using custom insoles you can get a perfect fit.
When the inside of the wheels appear worn or your speed is not picking up, it is time to change the wheels. Your weight, skating downhill and the terrain are some of the factors causing the wear and tear of the wheel.
