Advanced skaters sometimes prefer to use the T-stop as a quick way to slow down. However, excessive use of this means of stopping can prematurely wear out the inside edges and the profile of your wheels. If this isnÂ’t a major concern for you, by all means use the T-stop when itÂ’s to your advantage to do so. The T-stop is applied by forming a T-shape with your skates.

Applying the T-Stop

To prepare to make a T-stop:

  1. Stand in the ready position.
  2. Move into a staggered stance.
  3. Make three or four strides to pick up speed.
  4. Keep your right skate out in front and facing straight ahead.
  5. Lift your left skate about 3 inches off the pavement.

The skaterÂ’s left skate has cleared the pavement and is positioned correctly for the next step, which involves a quick movement of the left skate to the outside. The skater needs to keep the right skate pointing straight ahead. He or she is now balancing over top of his or her right skate. This provides the lateral stability he or she needs. The hands are out in front and the head is up.

To make the T-stop:

  1. Move your left skate about 1 foot back and out to your side. The left skate is now positioned properly for the next step which involves a quick, pivoting action.
  2. Pivot your left skate in the air until it make a 90-degree angle with the heel of your right skate.
  3. Place your left skate back on the surface about 6 to 12 inches straight behind you.
  4. At the same time as your back skate touches the surface, tilt the inside edges of your back skate so they make a 15-degree angle with the pavement.
  5. Drag all four wheels of your back skate to stop.

About this Inline Skating Technique

You have now formed a T-shape with your skates. The T-stop requires good balance and a proper posture throughout owing to the amount of weight and pressure you need to exert on the front skate. Notice the clearances that are specified in the above step. ItÂ’s important that you donÂ’t clip the back of your right skate when you pivot your left skate behind your right skate.

In addition, you could also use the T-stop with your left skate out front and your right skate behind you. However, this is more difficult and cumbersome since your brake may get in the way when you attempt to pivot and place your right skate down on the pavement.

Summing Up

Use the above maneuver when you need to stop in a hurry because of a crowded trail or an obstacle in your path. Until next time, have a great season of inline skating!

Many people write to me and ask me how they can use law of attraction to manifest their ideal love partner. So many have been damaged in earlier relationships and they do not want to recreate the same injury again with a new partner. Until I successfully manifested my dream partner, I had no idea that there was a fundamental step in the process of manifesting that I missed years.

The essential step in utilizing the law of attraction is called many things, but for today, I call it Intention-Setting. To manifest your dream partner, you first need to write down (yes, you must write it down) a laundry list (or "wish list") of the qualities and characteristics that best describe your ideal partner. Now here's the catch: you must write down things that are clear and specific.

It is OK to include features such as honesty and integrity. But also things that are more specific. For example, when I was a manifest my dream partner, James, my laundry list looked like this:

– Gorgeous

– 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall (perfect for be my pairs figure skating partner)

– Athletic and fun

– Be able to ride as good as I did

– We look fantastic on the ice together

– Affectionate – like lots of hugs and kisses

– Likes to get a massage

– Likes to cook (because I do not like to cook)

– Handy around the house (like chopping wood)

– Have to take care of me

– Spiritual

– Have personal development

– Likes to go personal development workshops

– Do yoga with me

– Do children and want to make a good dad

– Have to move here because I do not To move

See how specific I was in many ways? It took me months to get more and more specifically, as I learned from every relationship I was implicated in the meantime. And guess what? I got everything I asked!

Here's another thing, you need to know. When you create your laundry list and you can not decide what you want, it can help you to remember what has not worked in past relationships and then ask for the opposite. For example, if your previous lovers was a bad listeners, asking about a patient listener, your ideal partner. I do not want you to focus on what you want because the law of attraction to the you focus on grows. Contrast, recognize what you want can sometimes be a springboard to be clear about what you do lack.

The mistake many make when they want their ideal partner is too vague. The reason people are vague is often because they do not believe than can actually manifest what they really want. It happened to me when I first tried to manifest my dream partner. I was both looking for a skating partner, and a love partner, but did not think I could have both in one person. Why? Since I knew almost all the men in figure skating who could skate pairs and none of them were suitable. But one evening, I had an intuitive "hit" that I needed to ask for what I wanted really not what I thought I could get.

Thus, I changed my list to what you see above. Not long afterwards, James and I met. There has been a divine union ever since!

You can get everything you ask. You must feel good to be clear about what you want. Then you know what? Each qualities or characteristics that your ideal partner have (honesty, integrity, courage, independence etc.) also need to reason in you. Why? Since the law of attraction to "that attracts like", so you can not drag someone with qualities you do not has.

Just to reiterate: the first step in utilizing the law of attraction will make your "wish list" in as much specific detail as possible. Do not worry about how you will manifest your dream partner. The "hows" are in the area of the universe. By the way, found my ideal partner Universe not even was a figure skater, but an aggressive inline skater! James is now is amazing pair figure skaters, and we won a national gold medal in our first competition together! See how creative universe can be?

Make your list and refine it as you learn more about yourself. One of my colleagues, went Sandi Sain, who is six and relationship therapist, at 500 days before she finalized her "wish list"! You can listen to the interview with Sandi Sain on my blog Talk Radio Show …

Once you've completed the first step in manifesting your dream partner to be on alert! As you will soon receive messages from the universe to your dream partner is well on her / his way!

If you're looking for a fun way to lose weight, consider roller skating as an alternative. You can burn many calories by roller-skating for 30 to 45 minutes, 3 to 4 times a week.

One reason for roller skating is an effective way to lose weight is due to cardiovascular advantages it offers. Another reason roller blading is so effective at helping you lose weight is that you give your arms, back and legs a good workout. This helps firm and tone muscles, which will not only help you lose weight, but also look and feel better!

The main disadvantage with roller-skating is that it can be dangerous. For example, it is easy to lose balance and fall, which can lead to broken bones and head injuries. For this reason, there important safety measures you should take if you start roller blading.

Try to avoid the roller-skating in areas that have lots the hills – at least when first starting out. When you go down the mountain, it can be very difficult to stop, especially if you are gaining speed. You definitely do not want so if you're going down a hill towards an intersection with a lot of traffic!

It is best to be familiar with the place you are roller blading on. If possible, take a walk or a bike ride on the course before you roll the blade on it. Roller Blädinge on paved recreational trails where there is no traffic is sagest way to go, but be sure to watch out for children and adults who walk in my front end at a moment's notice. Finally, do not forget to use protective equipment, which is always a doctor before starting exercise programs.

If you do not have a pair of skates, it is recommended that you buy a pair of skates locally rather than online, because if you buy online, you do not have a chance to try them, and if they do not fit properly, may be tempted to roll baldness with a couple that do not fit. Bad idea!

Finally, it is best to spend a little extra money for a pair of rails quality roller at a sporting goods store, rather than a cheap pair of discount department store. Quality skates are comfortable and gives you much better ankle support. You can get a drop pair skates for about $ 75-150.
